WHO IS DEVY MORTALS

Founder & CEO

I'm passionate about breaking down barriers and capturing life's essence through my artwork, which I refer to as neo-gothic post-modern contemporary art. My goal is to inspire others to express themselves in various artistic forms and to stand out by accomplishing the impossible. What's your plan for making a mark in this world?

Our brand focuses on using natural ingredients to express love and care through delicious flavors. We create sustainable fashion by utilizing recycled materials to craft organic clothing. Our designs are intricate and daring, bringing the recycled materials to life. Our commitment to quality and sustainability makes us an ethical choice for fashion-conscious individuals.

Purpose

To demonstrate to everyone that anything in life is achievable as long as you remain steadfast and persistent, and also to celebrate the strength of self.

Mission statement:

Hi, I'm Devin Grimes, creator and CEO of Devy Mortals. It has been an incredible experience exploring the depths of creation. Growing up, I never knew I'd love painting this much, but geez Louise, I've made a career out of my passions and love for graphic arts and fashion.

Story behind The Monster Flower and inspirations:

☆☆ Story ☆☆

While in college in 2020, I created the Monster Flower during a digital engineering course where we were learning about Adobe Illustrator. I started sketching and scanning, eventually coming up with the idea to create a unique character for my brand. I wanted something organic and natural that would represent Devy Mortals and the community. So, I designed a six-petal flower with an open mouth and three eyes to add a psychedelic vibe. Being a flower fanatic, especially loving the bird of paradise, inspired this creation. The open mouth added goofiness and character, making it a great conversation starter.

The Monster Flower was an instant hit, resonating with people and sparking curiosity. It symbolized strength, courage, and unity, reminding everyone to stay true to themselves and never give up on their dreams. It encouraged creativity and the courage to defy the status quo, empowering people to make a difference and be the change they want to see in the world.

How did I get into design?

I got into designing during high school, surrounded by creative minds, and I fell in love with it. I wanted to enter the fashion world, showcasing my designs at concerts. I organized a pop-up event and established my presence in the industry. Working with Dawntay Boyd, we created a fashionable clothing line called Market, adding our logo to everything. I connected with manufacturers from Hong Kong, expanded my brand, and learned about screen printing. Despite challenges, I pursued my passion, creating my clothing brand. It's been an amazing journey, with collaborations and product shipments to LA. Now, I've even added new lenses to Snapchat and am venturing into app development.
